Your roofline does an unglamorous but important job: it finishes the edge of the roof and moves every drop of water that lands on it away from the building. When it stops working, the damage happens somewhere you cannot see.
Protect your roofline and move water away from your home reliably, all year round.
What the roofline is actually doing
The fascia is the board along the edge of the roof that the guttering fixes to. The soffit is the panel underneath it, closing off the gap between the wall and the edge of the roof. Together they seal the roof edge, support the gutter and, crucially, allow air to move through the roof space.
That ventilation matters more than people realise. A sealed-up roof space with no airflow gets condensation, and condensation rots timber just as effectively as a leak does. When we replace a roofline we make sure the ventilation is right, not just that it looks tidy.
Signs yours needs attention
Water running down the outside wall rather than through the downpipe
Staining or green growth on the brickwork below the gutter line
Gutters visibly sagging or pulling away from the fascia
Soft or flaking timber fascia boards, or paint that will not hold
Plants growing out of the gutter
Damp appearing on an internal wall near the top of the building
Repair, clear or replace
A lot of guttering problems are just blockage. Moss washed down off the roof and leaf litter build up at the outlet, the gutter fills, and water goes over the front edge instead of down the pipe. Clearing it out and re-checking the falls fixes it.
Where brackets have failed or joints have split, individual sections can be repaired or replaced. Where timber fascias have rotted, or the whole roofline is at the end of its life, replacing it in uPVC gives you something that will not need painting again. We fit timber where a property calls for it, and we will tell you which makes sense for yours.

Guttering & fascias questions
Do I have to replace the whole roofline or can you do part of it?
We can do part of it. If one elevation has failed and the rest is sound, there's no reason to replace the lot. We'll match what's there as closely as we can.
Do you clear gutters as a standalone job?
Yes. Gutter clearing is worth doing regularly, particularly if you have trees nearby or moss on the roof, and it's a lot cheaper than dealing with the damp it causes if you leave it.
uPVC or timber?
uPVC is the usual choice because it doesn't need painting and it handles the weather well. Timber suits period properties or where planning requires it, and we're happy to fit it, but it will need maintaining.
